Temporary Blog Break

Hello! Nice to see you.

This month is shaping up to be rather crazy for me: Tomorrow I'm headed to Las Vegas for the digital madness that is the Consumer Electronics Show, and the rest of the month I'm going to be nose-to-the-grindstone on finishing up Jacob Wonderbar #3.

So! This means that blogging is going to be quite sporadic, perhaps silent, until February. But! Please don't take this as a sign of any diminishing affection I have for blogging or this blog and certainly not you. You are awesome. I have a ton of topics I can't wait to tackle when I have the time, and I will be back with a vengeance in February.

While I'm away, when you're craving your literary discussions please delve into the friendly confines of the discussion forums, and also peruse old posts.

In the meantime... don't don't don't don't.... Don't youuuuu... Forget about meeeee......

Have a great time, Nathan!

If you pass a roulette table, put a buck on #29 for me. I'll catch ya when you get back.

If you run into Elizabeth Berkley: stay away.

If you run into Sinatra: take a picture.

Good luck with your projects, and hurry back. (How much trouble can Jacob get into. . . )

You still make the list of my best 2011 writing sites.

Looking forward to some interesting posts in February.

You better not have diminishing affection for me!!! Just because we've never met doesn't matter. ;)

Enjoy your blog-free month and get writing!

Aw, I'll miss you, but I hope you have both a fun and productive time, Nathan! I especially hope you get some time off to enjoy Vegas! :)

If you need a beta reader for Jacob #2, Nathan, let me know. Yes, I know you're working on #3, but I couldn't help but notice that I HAVEN'T READ 2 YET! I make a very good beta reader for things that are already done and about to be published. Just saying.

Stay cool, and don't forget to have fun!

Now I know you're human and not some super-robo-machine who can work full time and write novels and blog every day for years on end! Good luck finishing up Wonderbar 2. I look forward to reading it when it's done. And enjoy your break! We all need breaks now and then.

Have a good time, Nathan. For others, stop around for writers' talk, author tips, book quotes, and a unique view of The Writing Life.

I know what's really going on, Nathan. I admit I am inherently suspicious, but I think the connections should be perfectly clear to many. My conspiracy theory as to why you took off January:

1. We just finished the winter holiday season.

2. You are a likely target for holiday gifts of an electronic ilk.

3. It has been four excruciating years since the last release of a major "Legend of Zelda" title from Nintendo.

4. "Skyward Sword," released late November, is one of the best-reviewed Zelda games ever, comparable even to "Ocarina of Time."

'Fess up now, man. You just dedicated your January to saving Zelda.

So did I.

And it-- was-- awesome!

Ha - no, I've really been writing Wonderbar #3. But you accurately guessed how I'm rewarding myself when I'm finished.

Dear Jacob Wonderbar,

I hope you're obediently putting yourself down on paper. I hope you're taking all of Nathan's prompts to be witty, his advice without complaining, and his orders without whining.

Most of all, I hope you're grateful for all the time he has put into creating your vibrant existence.

A Reader

P.S. Tell Nathan that I wish him the best of luck!
