That must have been amazing! I was in France to watch Lance Armstrong's final victory in the Tour, and even though it didn't come with buttered popcorn or salted pretzels, it was a fantastic experience I'll never forget.
Brag, Brag, Brag ( like I wouldn't?) LOL
Moments like that are priceless. I was in Tiger Stadium when Lou Whitaker hit his first major league home run in the 7th to break the tie with the Blue Jays. He had quite a career with the Tigers after that. Because of where I grew up, I was at every home game the season the Dolphins had the perfect season, and there the night Jim Morrison got busted in Miami Beach. Some things you just never forget. I'll bet it was absolutely electrifying!
Wow! So did you cheer or boo? Just curious.
Very cool. Of course my son thinks it's just a matter of years before A-Rod takes the record.
Prove it. Circle your face in the crowd so we can pick you out.

Well, I was on the third base side lower deck, so basically imagine me about 25 rows behind the photographer.

I cheered -- the anticipation alone was crazy with all the flash bulbs going off every time he took a swing and everyone standing and chanting. And then when he hit it people just went nuts. I don't know how even the most ardent Barry-hater could have stopped themselves from being excited.
Way cool.
I was there when his daddy hit his first Major League hit. Know what it was?
There was a photo of Barry tossing a ball to a little kid in the Times last week. It's hard not to like his broad smile. I blame MLB for any "issues" and am happy for Bonds. All pro sports athletes have an advantage over the old timers in that the equipment is better in every sport. Including their bodies! And as a heterosexual female I say, "Bring on the the muscles!" LOL. (Yes, I know steroids are dangerous. Breast implants have dangers too an not to many guys complain about them, now do they?) KIM S.
Ohhhhhh, trust me, I know ALL about it. I even made Sean do a re-enactment when he got home, with me as Barry Bonds and him playing both you and himself simultaneously, so he could show me how you both reacting (jumping and cheering, as far as I can tell.)
And now, thank god, it's all over and I never have to hear about Barry Bonds EVER AGAIN, or lose my boyfriend for another night of alone time on the couch with the television and the cats.
ARGHH. ReactED.
Typos like that make me lose the will to live.
Years ago, I was asked why Pittsburgh didn't appreciate Barry Bonds when he played here. At that point some idiot fat pile of blubber ralk show host was ranting and raving against Bonds every time he took the field for the Pirates. I thought they were crazy to ever give up a player that good.
Good you bought a ticket and good that you were there. This controversy happened years ago when Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's record.
These are things to celebrate, not to criticize.
